Janus Henderson Investors has named Alex Ng as head of intermediary sales, Asia, ex-Japan, with responsibility for leading and managing the intermediary sales function across Southeast Asia and Greater China with a focus on partnering with global banking clients to ensure their investment needs are met.
Ng, who will commence work in this newly created role in July and report to Andrew Hendry, head of distribution, Asia, ex-Japan, brings close to 15 years of experience in the funds management industry. He joins from Federated Hermes, where he was head of wholesale distribution, Asia, ex-Japan.
Prior to that he was a director at abrdn ( previously Aberdeen Standard Investments ), where he was responsible for product distribution to banks, and single- and multi-family offices. He previously also held business development roles in Lion Global Investors and Reliance Asset Management.
“Ng has client service experience stretching back two decades,” Hendry says. “His experience in leading business areas at some of fund management’s leading names will greatly contribute to our own growth in the region while enhancing our ability to meet our clients’ constantly evolving needs.”
Other key hires across the global distribution team in past months include the global heads of consultant relations and client experience, the head of North America institutional, the director of institutional solutions in Australia and the deputy head of investment trusts.
