
Investment research firm Morningstar has appointed Jackie Choy as its director of passive investment ratings, global manager research.
Choy was previously director of exchange-traded fund research for Asia and will stay based in Hong Kong.
In his new role, he is responsible for the overall leadership of the firm’s global research and analyst rating assignments for passive investment strategies. He will also drive methodological developments alongside the company’s global asset class leaders in equities, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives.
Prior to joining Morningstar in 2012, Choy was an investment analyst covering Hong Kong real estate securities for Cohen and Steers. Before joining Cohen and Steers in 2010, he was a research analyst for Nomura/Lehman Brothers, covering Hong Kong and China real estate securities.
Choy reports to Christopher Traulsen, the company’s director of ratings, global manager research, based in London.
