Citi India appoints CCB key industries head
Srini Kannan has extensive experience in equity, debt, M&A, financing, risk management, payments

Citi India has appointed Srini Kannan as its head of digital, technology, communication, business and professional services and industrials for Citi Commercial Bank ( CCB ) in India with effect from December 2025.

Kannan will be responsible for driving CCB’s market presence in India across these key industries and focus on leveraging the bank’s global network across more than 94 countries. He will aslo serve as a strategic adviser to the bank’s clients in India.

As well, he will also focus on unlocking investment banking opportunities and support the execution of the bank’s industry coverage strategy to optimize wallet share and returns.

Kannan has extensive experience in dealmaking across equity, debt, mergers and acquisitions ( M&A ), financing, risk management and payments. Until recently, he served as the head of innovation economy and venture capital ( VC ) coverage in India at JPMorgan, leading a team focused on founder-led or VC-backed, high-growth companies. Prior to that, he helped build JPMorgan’s mid-corporate business in South India, making it the largest market within the country.

His banking career began with Citi in 2002 where he was part of the corporate banking team, managing the business in Chennai and Coimbatore markets. Over a period of 10 years, starting 2009, he covered various sectors within corporate banking and the financial institutions group, and he managed significant conglomerate relationships.
